Highland Park Fire Edition Port Cask 15yr 45.2% Orkney



Nose: Red fruits, warm vanilla, cinnamon, dark chocolate.


Palate: Light smoke, citrus peel, vanilla & spice.


Finish: Long & sweet with fruity spiciness.










Aultmore 25yr 46% Speyside


Nose: Sweet & fruity with toffee, banana, apples, and earthy oak.


Palate: Chocolate, cereal & bananas followed by plums and orange and a bit of oak.


Finish: Medium lng with warm stewed fruit and a bit of late spice.













Longrow Malbec 13yr 51.3% Campbeltown


Nose: Sea salt, fresh, blackberries, red currants, fruity, with late notes of leather and cigar boxes.


Palate: Continued frsh fruit pie, stewed apples, ripe plums. Bit of saltiness and peat.


Finish: Developed red wine tanins, more present smoke, and lingering notes of stewed fall fruits.













Glen Garioch 1994 AW Exclusive 21yr 55% Speyside


Nose: Nice Fresh oak, lemon zest, toasted barley, with underlying notes of fresh cut apples & vanilla, slightly herbal.


Palate: Opens with a big oak hit, malted barley, vanilla, a bit nutty, oak tannins, and a bit grassy on the tail.


Finish: Long, a bit spicy, orange marmalade, and slightly drying.


Comment: The overall winner for the tasting. Nice complexity on the nose and palate with a very rewarding finish. Congrats to Abbey Whisky for a superb cask choice.






Ardbeg Kelpie Committee Release nas 51.7% Islay


Nose: Oily peat, dark chocolate, smoked fish, seaweed, herbal. Late notes of spice and black pepper.


Palate: Very spicy and hot, dark coffee, smoky bacon, dark chocolate. Nice spice on the tail.


Finish: Very long and rich, deep clove and toffee notes.













Octomore 7.4 Virgin Oak 167ppm nas 61.2% Islay


Nose: Chewy raisins, orange peel, BBQ, and sweet smoke. Intensely oaky!


Palate: Lots of peat smoke, more intense cirus peel, honey, and ground spices.


Finish: Lasting floral sweetness balanced by rich oak warmth.

Orkney Brewery “Dark Island” Orcadian Ale 4.6% Scotland


Nose: Smooth roasted malt notes with bitter chocolate and coffee, hints of red fruit, nuts, and toffee


Palate: Chocolate and crystal malts combine to create silky coffee and chocolate flavors, lingering fig and dried fruit characters.


Finish: A fruity hoppy bitterness











Highpoint Brewing Co “Ramstein” Dunkel

Hefe-Weizen 5.5% New Jersey


Nose: Chocolate, apple, and clove


Palate: Roasted malts and hops combine to create complex flavors


Finish: Smooth roasted malts, dark caramel















Brauerei Heller-Trum “Hecht Ochlenferla Fische” Dobblebock Schlenkerla Oak Smoke 8.0% Germany


Nose: Smooth and multi-layered smoke


Palate: Slightly bitter hops & smoke


Finish: Smooth with lingering smoke














Founders “Doom” Barrel Aged Imperial IPA 12.4% Michigan


Nose: Citrus & bourbon


Palate: Warm vanilla, malty, slightly bitter


Finish: Lasting vanilla with bourbon on the tail
